Binance is advertising up to 7.77% in XRP rewards for holding Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, but its own payout table shows the base rate has dropped three weeks in a row.
Binance Offers Nearly 8% in XRP for RLUSD But the Base Rate Keeps Falling

Key Takeaways
- Binance’s headline 7.77% APR only applies to the 1.3x boosted tier of its $800,000 XRP campaign.
- The base APR slid from 7.15% on Oct. 2 to 5.98% on Oct. 16 as XRP fell from $1.49 to $1.34.
- RLUSD supply sits near $2.43B, and Binance posts the campaign’s final APR when it ends on Oct. 23.
The Number Explained
Binance promoted the campaign on X early Saturday, adding:
Hold RLUSD and share in $800,000 worth of XRP rewards! Earn up to 7.77% APR.
The exchange publishes an effective APR after each distribution, alongside the XRP price it used.
- Oct. 2: base APR of 7.15%, with XRP valued at $1.4939.
- Oct. 9: base APR of 6.72%, with XRP at $1.3805.
- Oct. 16: base APR of 5.98%, with XRP at $1.3350.
- Oct. 23: final week, rate to be announced.
The 7.77% on the latest banner is the top boosted rate from the Oct. 16 table, not the base. To reach it, a user needs both boosts at once, i.e. a 1.2x multiplier on RLUSD added above their baseline (the higher daily balance from the prior two weeks), plus a 1.1x multiplier for subscribing that RLUSD to Simple Earn Flexible savings. In total, they reach 1.3x, but only on the incremental amount.
Why the Annual Rate Keeps Sliding
The pool is fixed in dollar terms, so the rate falls as more RLUSD chases it and as XRP’s value drops. XRP is trading around $1.31 on Saturday, below the $1.3350 Binance used for its latest payout.
The payout math is simple, and weekly rewards equal the seven-day average qualifying balance, multiplied by the effective APR and by seven, then divided by 365. At the latest 5.98% base rate, someone holding $10,000 in RLUSD would earn about $11.47 worth of XRP for the week.
Two more rules shrink the number:
- Each day’s qualifying balance is the lowest RLUSD balance from hourly snapshots
- RLUSD obtained by borrowing other stablecoins on margin gets a 60% haircut.
That said, large parts of the market are still shut out as the campaign terms exclude residents of the U.S., the UK, Canada, Japan and most European Economic Area countries, including Germany, France and Italy. Participants must also complete know-your-customer (KYC) identity checks.
Why Ripple Wants RLUSD Parked Somewhere
This is at least the third Binance rewards push for RLUSD this year, following an August campaign that offered 1 million XRP. The stablecoin’s market cap now sits near $2.43 billion.
Banks are also doing more of the work now and Bitcoin.com News reported this week that Cross River Bank brought RLUSD into traditional banking, days after Standard Chartered added RLUSD custody on the XRP Ledger on the XRP Ledger. On the yield side, XRP holders have already parked 90 million coins in a single onchain vault.
For RLUSD holders on Binance, the takeaway is the gap between the banner and the base. The final rate lands on Oct. 23, and the only thing that would lift it is a higher XRP price or fewer people sharing the pool.
